The role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to join our Integrations team, responsible for building and maintaining the platform services that integrate our gaming ecosystem with external operators and vendors.

In this role, you will design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available backend systems that support real-time gaming transactions, operator APIs, wallet integrations, player authentication, and compliance-related workflows.

You will collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable integration capabilities that support multiple operators across regulated markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java backend services supporting operator integrations.

• Build and evolve RESTful APIs and event-driven services that connect gaming platforms with operator systems with the right unit, integration and system test coverag

• Implement integration solutions for wallet services, player authentication, session management, game launch, and transactional flows.

• Ensure services are scalable, fault-tolerant, and optimized for high throughput and low latency.

Integration Engineering

• Develop and maintain integrations with external operator platforms and third-party providers.

• Implement and support API contracts, message formats, authentication mechanisms and workflows

• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across distributed systems.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Contribute to the technical design and architecture of integration services.

• Drive best practices in code quality, testing, observability, reliability and maintainability.

• Participate in technical design reviews and architecture discussions.

• Mentor engineers and support the team in solving complex technical challenges.

System Design & Development

Reliability & Operational Excellence

• Ensure integration services are built using zero defect releases, high availability and performance requirements.

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to support operational stability.

• Support incident investigation and root-cause analysis for production issues.

Collaboration

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong experience with Java (Java 11+ preferred)

• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable architectures

• Experience with Spring Boot or similar frameworks

• Experience with SQL and relational databases

• Familiarity with message brokers / event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)

Integration & Systems Knowledge

• Domain knowledge of working with third-party integrations and distribution or partner APIs

• Understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT, API keys)

• Experience handling transactional systems and real-time processing

Engineering Practices

Strong understanding of:

• Testing frameworks

• CI/CD pipelines

• Version control (Git)

• Code quality, automation tests and review practices

Nice to Have

• Experience in iGaming, betting, or regulated transactional platforms

• Experience with wallet integrations, payments, or financial transactions

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud environments

• Experience with high-volume transactional systems

• Knowledge of regulatory or compliance-driven systems
